Oakland University Natatorium
The Oakland Aquatic Center has quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest of its kind. In addition to being the home pool of Oakland University, the state-of-the-art aquatics center is also host to state and regional meets. The natatorium houses a 50-meter stretch pool with spectator seating for 1,000 and deck space for 400 participants. The pool itself has two bulkheads, which allow a configuration for concurrent swimming and diving. Swimming competition takes place within eight 25-yard lanes, with additional lanes available for warming up. The depth of the pool extends from approximately nine feet at the start-end, to six feet eight inches at the turn-end. The diving area has two one-meter and two three-meter boards, plus one five-meter platform with a maximum depth of 14 feet. All boards are Durafirm Maxi-B with short stands on concrete platforms.
